Criminal Appeals

Criminal Appeals

Every defendant convicted of a crime has the essential right to an appeal adverse decisions to a higher court, even if that individual has pled guilty to the crime in question.  The consequences for criminal convictions can be and often are so severe that an individual convicted of a crime should always consult with an attorney to discuss whether or not he or she may have any rights to appeal of any issues, and what the likelihood of success may be.  Our office has specialized in various kinds of appeals for several years, and we have successfully represented clients before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of the State of Michigan, and the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, which is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Our office has been admitted to practice in each of these various appellate courts.

Lessons from the Past

History and experience tell us that moral progress comes not in comfortable and complacent times, but out of trial and confusion.
